"[Community Services Minister Kevin] Greene says under a number of changes beings proposed, foster parents who adopt will be able to retain their carers allowance until the child turns 18... He says they will also make it easier and less time consuming for step parents and other relatives."The Foster Parents Support Network estimates that the changes will cause up to a 30 percent increase in adoptions from foster parents.
