Transracial Adoptions Reduce Waiting Time
Adoption S.T.A.R. (Support, Training, Advocacy and Resources) is a non-profit organization that primarily places Caucasian and African-American infants with families in New York State based on transracial adoption preferences of both birth and adoptive parents. Adoptive parents and birth parents open to transracial adoption are able make matches must faster and easier than those who won't adopt transracially. Director Michele Fried said the agency has had to place many African-American and biracial children out of state due to parental preferences.
